It was reranked as Arcestes (Cyclolobus) by Rothpletz (1892).
It was assigned to Joannitinae by von Mojsisovics (1882); to Arcestes by Rothpletz (1892); to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Cyclolobinae by Zhao (1980), Furnish et al. (2009); and to Cyclolobidae by Bogoslovskaya (1990), Leonova (2002), Korn (2006), Leonova (2010).
It was reranked as Arcestes (Cyclolobus) by Rothpletz (1892).
