Taxonomy
Neoicoceras was named by Hyatt (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: C Bash-u P Asse Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Neoicoceratidae.

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Neoicoceratidae by Korn (2006), Furnish et al. (2009).
