Raymondiceras was named by Schindewolf (1934) [Sepkoski's age data: D Fame-l D Fame-m Sepkoski's reference number: 1066,1103]. It is not extant.

It was reranked as Cheiloceras (Raymondiceras) by Woroncowa-Marcinowska (2006).

It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Cheiloceras by Woroncowa-Marcinowska (2006); and to Raymondoceratinae by Korn (2006).
