Wiedeyoceras was named by Miller (1932) [Sepkoski's age data: C Bash-l C Mosc-u Sepkoski's reference number: 304,1066]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Wiedeyoceratidae.
It was assigned to Goniatitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Wiedeyoceratidae by Korn (2006), Furnish et al. (2009), Dernov (2023).
