Nodosageceras was named by Ruzhencev (1956) [Sepkoski's age data: P Djhu Sepkoski's reference number: 1251]. It is not extant. Its type is Episageceras nodosum.
It was assigned to Prolecanitida by Sepkoski (2002); to Episageceratidae by Leonova (2002), Korn (2006); and to Episageceratinae by Furnish et al. (2009).
