Taxonomy
Pecten utahensis was named by Meek (1860). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Summit Spring Pass, which is in an Olenekian carbonate limestone in the Thaynes Formation of Nevada.
It was recombined as Aviculopecten utahensis by Meek (1876), Meek (1877); it was recombined as Entolioides utahensis by Newell and Boyd (1995).
