Taxonomy
Gobiconodon borissiaki was named by Trofimov (1978). Its type specimen is PIN No. 3101/09, a mandible (partial right mandible), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Khovboor (PIN coll. 3101) [SMPE], which is in an Aptian/Albian lacustrine sandstone/claystone in the Dzunbain Formation of Mongolia.
