Steppesaurus gurleyi

Taxonomy
Steppesaurus gurleyi was named by Olson and Beerbower (1953). Its type specimen is CNHM (FMNH) UR 148, a partial skull (maxillary with dentition and partial lower jaw with roots of teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality HA ("Lower San Angelo Fm."), which is in a Kungurian/Roadian fluvial claystone/conglomerate in the San Angelo Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Steppesaurus.
