Spinoaequalis schultzei
Taxonomy
Spinoaequalis schultzei was named by deBraga and Reisz (1995). Its type specimen is KUVP 12484, a partial skeleton (nearly complete and articulated; skull poorly preserved and distal portion of tail missing), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Hamilton Quarry, which is in a Virgilian estuary/bay shale in the Calhoun Shale Formation of Kansas. It is the type species of Spinoaequalis.
