Dalmatites was named by Kittl (1903) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Pinacoceratidae by Kittl (1903); to Hungaritidae by Kummel (1969); to Proptychitinae by Tozer (1981); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Longobarditidae by Brayard et al. (2009).
