Taxonomy
Diplosirenites was named by Mojsisovics (1893) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Diplosirenites raineri.

It was assigned to Trachyceratidae by Spath (1951); to Sirenitinae by Tozer (1981); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
