Hyolithes sondai
Taxonomy
Hyolithes sondai was named by Resser and Endo (1937) [COMMENTS: Morphology of the type does not suggest affinity to Hyolitha. Better preserved specimens may show that this species should be excluded completely from the Hyolitha. TAPHONOMY: Specimen is a fragmentary steinkern broken at both ends.]. Its type specimen is USNM 86715, a partial shell, and it is a mold.
