Hyrcanites was named by Shevyrev (1968) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Byrrangoceratidae by Dagys (1997); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Olenikitidae by Tozer (1981), Zakharov and Popov (2014).
