Laboceras was named by Shevyrev (1961) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Anis Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Laboceras gracile.
It was assigned to Aplococeratidae by Tozer (1981); and to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002).
