Metussuria was named by Spath (1934) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Ussuria waageni.
It was assigned to Ussuridae by Spath (1934); to Ussuriidae by Tozer (1981); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Ussuritidae by Brayard et al. (2009).
