Taxonomy
Hoplitoplacenticeras fugen was named by Matsumoto (1984). Its type specimen is GK. H9650, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc. E33 - Wembets-Rubeshbe, Teshio [Yezo Gp], which is in a Campanian marine sandstone in Japan.
