Platyoposaurus watsoni
Taxonomy
Platyops watsoni was named by Efremov (1933). Its type specimen is PIN 2250/8, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Shikhovo-Chirki, PIN 161, which is in an Ufimian/Kazanian deltaic limestone in the Pechishchi Formation of the Russian Federation.
It was recombined as Platyoposaurus watsoni by Schoch and Milner (2000), Shishkin et al. (2000).
