Gorgodon minutus
Taxonomy
Gorgodon minutus was named by Olson (1962). Its type specimen is CNHM (FMNH) UR 495, a partial skull (part of temporal region, quadrate, pterygoid, maxilla, and four single, associated teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality KAC (Lower Flowerpot Shale), which is in a Kungurian/Roadian fluvial claystone/sandstone in the San Angelo Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Gorgodon.
