Puzosia brasiliana was named by Maury (1936). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lastro, perto de Maroim, which is in an Albian carbonate limestone in the Riacheulo Formation of Brazil.
It was recombined as Puzosia (Anapuzosia) brasiliana by Simone and Zelaya (2004).
