Catoraphiceras was named by Ulrich and Foerste (1936). It is not extant. Its type is Catoraphiceras lobatum.
It was assigned to Spyroceratidae by Ulrich et al. (1944); and to Protocycloceratidae by Hook and Flower (1977).
