Subvishnuites was named by Spath (1930) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-l Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Flemingitidae by Spath (1934); to Dieneroceratidae by Kummel (1969); to Inyoitidae by Tozer (1981); to Ceratitida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Xenoceltitidae by Brayard et al. (2009).
