Taxonomy
Kennicottia rugosa was named by Imlay (1960). Its type specimen is USNM 130152, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Alaska, Kennicott Formation, USGS Mes. loc. 14485, which is in an Albian marginal marine shale/sandstone in the Kennicott Formation of Alaska.
