Taxonomy
Sphenodiscus brasiliensis was named by Maury (1930). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 23 (of Cel. Dos Santos), Right bank of Rio Gramame (Sphenodiscus zone), which is in a Maastrichtian carbonate limestone in Brazil.
