Taxonomy
Parengonoceras champaraense was named by Benavides-Caceres (1956). Its type specimen is AMNH 27848, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bed 8, Sihuas section, which is in an Albian carbonate marl in the Chulec Formation of Peru.
