Taxonomy
Sphenodiscus aberrans was named by Böse (1928). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Arroyo Caballeo [Escondido beds], which is in a Maastrichtian marine sandstone/shale in the Escondido Formation of Mexico.
