Dipoloceras tarrantense was named by Scott (1928) [Distribution: Basal Upper Albian; Texas (USA), Ecuador.]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Dipoloceras (Dipoloceras) tarrantense by Bulot et al. (2005).
