Taxonomy
Vascoceras globosum carteri was named by Barber (1957). Its type specimen is BMNH C.47630, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was synonymized subjectively with Vascoceras proprium by Kennedy et al. (1987); it was recombined as Paravascoceras carteri by Chancellor (1982), Meister (1989).
