Taxonomy
Audaxlytoceras was named by Fucini (1923) [Sepkoski's age data: J Plie-l J Plie-u Sepkoski's reference number: 1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Audaxlytoceras audax.

It was synonymized subjectively with Alocolytoceras by Hoffmann (2010).

It was assigned to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); to Lytoceratidae by Géczy and Meister (1998), Hillebrandt (2006); to Nannolytoceratidae by Tongtherm et al. (2016); and to Alocolytoceratinae by Pallini et al. (2004), Dommergues and Meister (2017).
