Palaeoceras mutabile
Taxonomy
Palaeoceras mutabile was named by Flower (1954). Its type specimen is specimen in the collections of the Bureau of Economic Geology, University of Texas and is a cast. Its type locality is Threadgill Creek section (San Saba Limestone), which is in a Trempealeauan shallow subtidal grainstone in the Wilberns Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Palaeoceras.
