Taxonomy
Pachydiscus (Neodesmoceras) obsoletiformis was named by Jones (1963). Its type specimen is USNM 131200, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS M565, Talkeetna Mountains, which is in a Campanian marine siliciclastic in the Matanuska Formation of Alaska.
