Taxonomy
Pachydiscus durandi was named by Thomas and Peron (1889). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Ammonites durandi by Peron (1890); it was recombined as Vascoceras (Pachyvascoceras) durandi by Faraud (1940); it was recombined as Vascoceras durandi by Pervinquiére (1907), Kennedy and Simmons (1991), Chancellor et al. (1994), Barroso-Barcenilla and Goy (2010) and Ayoub-Hannaa and Fürsich (2012).
