Taxonomy

Pseudotissotia segnis was named by Solger (1903). Its type specimen is SN.BG., a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Choffaticeras segne by Aly et al. (2008); it was recombined as Choffaticeras (Choffaticeras) segne by Chancellor et al. (1994), Barroso-Barcenilla and Goy (2007), Kennedy et al. (2008), Ayoub-Hannaa and Fürsich (2012), Moneer et al. (2022).

Synonyms

Schloenbachia quaasi was named by Peron in Fourtau (1904). It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Choffaticeras quaasi by Meister (1989); it was recombined as Choffaticeras (Choffaticeras) quaasi by Chancellor et al. (1994), Barroso-Barcenilla and Goy (2007); it was synonymized subjectively with Choffaticeras (Choffaticeras) segne by Kennedy et al. (2008), Moneer et al. (2022).
Tissotia securiformis was named by Eck (1909).

It was recombined as Choffaticeras securiforme by Freund and Raab (1969); it was recombined as Choffaticeras (Choffaticeras) securiforme by Ayoub-Hannaa and Fürsich (2012); it was synonymized subjectively with Choffaticeras (Choffaticeras) segne by Moneer et al. (2022).
Pseudotissotia (Leoniceras) alaouitense was named by Basse (1937). Its type specimen is MNHN R52529 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ain Tineh, which is in a Turonian marine horizon in Syria.

It was synonymized subjectively with Choffaticeras (Choffaticeras) securiforme by Barroso-Barcenilla and Goy (2007).
Tissotia schweinfurthi was named by Eck (1909).

It was synonymized subjectively with Choffaticeras (Choffaticeras) segne by Moneer et al. (2022).
