It was recombined as Hoplites vari by Choffat (1898); it was synonymized subjectively with Hoplitoplacenticeras marroti by Howarth (1965); it was recombined as Hoplitoplacenticeras vari by Chavan (1947) and Atabekyan and Khakimov (1976).
