Taxonomy
Caseoceras obesum was named by Flower (1964). It is not extant. Its type specimen is RHF 204, a shell. Its type locality is S of Blue Corners, Saratoga Co., which is in a Skullrockian shallow subtidal limestone in the Tribes Hill Formation of New York.
