Taxonomy
Kionoceras polyplicatum was named by Flower (1952). Its type specimen is RHF 55, a shell, and it is a cast. Its type locality is Little Monty Bay (=Trombley Bay), Valcour Fm., which is in an Ashbyan reef, buildup or bioherm lime mudstone/grainstone in the Valcour Formation of New York.
