Hypsiprymnopsis rhaeticus
Taxonomy
Hypsiprymnopsis rhaeticus was named by Dawkins (1864). Its type specimen is lost, a tooth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is east side, Blue Anchor Point, Watchet, which is in a Rhaetian carbonate marl in the Blue Anchor Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Hypsiprymnopsis.
It was recombined as Microlestes rhaeticus by Owen (1871); it was considered a nomen dubium by Simpson (1928).
