Taxonomy
Nacella (Nacella) lacrima was named by DeVries (2007). Its type specimen is MUSM INV 176, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is DV 1279-1, Ocoña, which is in a Pliocene coastal gravel in Peru.
