Taxonomy
Nacella (Patinigera) chalaensis was named by DeVries (2007). Its type specimen is UWBM 98686, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is DV 1254-1-2, DV 1628 (Unit I+II) [Huacllaco beds], which is in a Pliocene marine sandstone in the Huacllaco Formation of Peru.
