Cenisella was named by Delamette and Latil (1989) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi-u]. It is not extant. Its type is Ammonites bonnetianus.

It was assigned to Stoliczkaiinae by Delamette and Latil (1989); and to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
