Taxonomy
Conus alleni was named by Hendricks and Portell (2008). Its type specimen is UF 119920, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Montgomery Landing [Moodys Branch Fm], which is in a Bartonian marine siliciclastic in the Moodys Branch Formation of Louisiana.
