Taxonomy
Lunatia subhumerosa was named by White (1887). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Trapiche das Pedras Velho, which is in an Albian marine horizon in the Riachuelo Formation of Brazil.

It was recombined as Ampullina subhumerosa by Hendy et al. (2008).
