Taxonomy
Monsalveiceras monsalvense was named by Kakabadze and Hoedemaeker (1997). Its type specimen is RGM 352 528, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Southern point of Monsalve, Boyaca, which is in an Aptian marine horizon in Colombia. It is the type species of Monsalveiceras.
