Taxonomy
Charactoceras suecicum was named by Frye (1982). Its type specimen is RM Mo 8739, a shell, and it is a cast. Its type locality is Kallholn, Siljan District, which is in a Katian reef, buildup or bioherm lime mudstone in the Boda Limestone Formation of Sweden.
