Australothyris smithi
Taxonomy
Australothyris smithi was named by Modesto et al. (2009). Its type specimen is SAM-PK-K8302, a partial skeleton (almost complete), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Beukesplaas, which is in a Capitanian floodplain mudstone in the Abrahamskraal Formation of South Africa. It is the type species of Australothyris.
