Taxonomy
Hemiaster (Bolbaster) subidus was named by McNamara (1987). Its type specimen is SAN P26554, a test, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Tortachilla Limestone - St Vincent Basin, which is in an Eocene/Eocene marine horizon in the Tortachilla Limestone Formation of Australia.
