It was assigned to Ziphosuchia by Turner and Sertich (2010) and Sertich and O'Connor (2014); to Sphagesauridae by Marinho and Carvalho (2009), Iori and Carvalho (2011), Iori et al. (2013), Pol et al. (2014) and Martinelli et al. (2018); to Sphagesauridae by Ruiz et al. (2021); and to Sphagesaurinae by Pinheiro et al. (2021).
