Taxonomy
Ulrichotrypa prolifica was named by Fritz (1932). Its type specimen is Nat Mus Can 6814a,b and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Azure Lake Section, Marble Peak, Vancouver Island, which is in an Artinskian carbonate limestone in the Buttle Lake Formation of Canada.
