Taxonomy
Hamulina was named by d'Orbigny (1850) [Sepkoski's age data: K Barr-l]. Its type is Hamulina astieriana.

It was assigned to Ptychoceratidae by Wright (1952); to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); and to Hamulinidae by Klein et al. (2007).
