Kabylites was named by Durand Delga (1954) [Sepkoski's age data: K Barr Sepkoski's reference number: 1066].

It was assigned to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002); to Bochianitidae by Klein et al. (2007); and to Bochianitinae by El Qot (2018).
