Taxonomy
Katroliceras was named by Spath (1928) [Sepkoski's age data: J Kimm-l J Tith-u Sepkoski's reference number: 302]. It is not extant. Its type is Katroliceras pottingeri.

It was assigned to Virgatosphinctinae by Helmstaedt (1969); to Ataxioceratidae by Thomson (1983); and to Ammonoidea by Sepkoski (2002).
